About

Tsumugi Tsukioka is the leader of Winter Troupe, Mankai Company's fourth troupe specializing in soft, subtle, and serious plays. The other members of Winter Troupe are Tasuku Takato, former God Troupe lead actor and Tsumugi's childhood friend, Hisoka Mikage, a sweets-loving amnesiac, Homare Arisugawa, an eccentric but accomplished poet, Azuma Yukishiro, a gentle man surrounded by an air of mystery, and Guy, Citron (a Spring Troupe member)'s attendant from the country of Zafra. Tsumugi's passions include acting, acting, acting, acting, and, of course, acting. He has been acting since elementary school, and turned his back on the world of theater once - but never again.

Outside of theater, Tsumugi enjoys gardening and floriography. He's the dorm's gardener Garden Boss, and others often come to him for plant advice. In regards to his educational background, he has a degree in psychology and is a tutor in official and unofficial capacities, specializing in modern and ancient Japanese.

In Avalon, he is an actor affiliated with Kaika Company, as well as the gardener Garden Boss who takes care of the approximately bajillion flowers inside and outside the theater. From September to December 2021, he took the reins on the financial side of things to cover for Sakyo temporarily returning to their world.

Outside of Kaika, he worked at Don't Stop Be-Leafing as a florist, up until Aerith's departure from Avalon. In April 2022, he reopened the establishment as moondrop and is the current owner.

In February 2022, he started dating fellow actor Kazunari Miyoshi.

first impressions Tsumugi, quite honestly, is rather plain, especially if you put him next to some of the more... lively members of Mankai Company. He's gentle, polite, and observant - the quietly passionate type that will explode with vitality if the subject is acting.

clothes Outside of costumes, Tsumugi dresses simply, leaning toward minimally patterned clothes in shades of blue with (if appropriate for the season) a brown sweater or coat.

He is most often wearing a striped blue and white shirt, a brown jacket with blue cuffs, a bracelet, dark pants, and a nice pair of shoes. Click here for a visual.


avalon-specific He has a pair of angel wings branded on his back, reminiscent of the wings from his "Sympathy for the Angel" costume. (✾)

cognitive magic

From Avalon's FAQ and expanded after his visit to Elphame in December 2021:
Touch-based post-cognition (see the recent past of an item by touching it), dream walking, astral projection, telepathic conversation (two-way, by consent only- they can't read thoughts without permission), hypnotic suggestion (can hypnotize people to do things with player permission, provided it does not go against the core of who that person is-- i.e. you can't make them kill someone if they wouldn't hurt a fly, etc.), and limited psychic damage. (Note: post-cognition cannot be used on corpses, hypnosis cannot be used on animals.)

He is most proficient in telepathic messaging, but can also astral project and dream walk quite effectively. In October 2021, he learned how to make special candles from the mages of Lestari, associated with their Death Ball holiday. (✾)

Rapid growth of plant and fungi, control of plant movement, stimulate and magically aerosolize plant poisons and antidotes, grow plants in any organic environment including living beings (use with caution; may be fatal to host-- must touch host to “seed” them, cannot do remotely), hanahaki curses. Can enhance certain components of plants, including flavor and spice levels even after cooking. Plant empathy (sense the wellbeing and conditions of plants).

He uses green magic, particularly the rapid growth and plant empathy aspects, to enhance his gardening capabilities. Because of the refuge crisis and Kaika Theater's temporary daycare, he can also slightly modify flavor, though that's still a big ol' WIP.
